I'm Leslie. Welcome to Ruthlessly Edit. My love for minimalism, simplicity, decluttering and organizing lead me here. Simplifying anything life related is my superpower! I'm so glad you are here.

With a Masters Degree in Special Education, myself, my colleagues and especially my students, thrived in a highly simplified, organized and decluttered environment. Children with special needs, especially those with neurodiversity need less visual stimulation and "noise" to effectively learn.  

Once my 2 girls entered elementary school, I went back to teaching. This time to typical preschoolers. There, my classroom was a bit more visually stimulating, however everything was paired down (art on the walls, available items, daily choices, etc). Everything was labeled.  Everything had a boundary (such as paint fitting comfortably into one container). There was never too much of anything. The children could independently clean up after each activity. My classroom was a well oiled machine.

Once I retired from teaching, I became certified as a Wellness Coach. I learned the circle of life. The circle of life is a coaching tool used to get a birds eye view where a person was thriving or not. That was fascinating to me. I naturally gravitated toward how a person was thriving (or not) in their home environment. I was shocked to learn that this was a major pain point for many, especially mothers. I wanted to help! 

Life is busy.

Our homes should be a place where we find peace, rest and relaxation and spend quality time with those we love most. It should never be a place we avoid, find stressful and where we spend our precious time stuff shuffling and feeling overwhelmed.
